It reminds me of a scaled down CANON A1 (Hi8). It's got that SLR look to it and is easily dismissed as one but it looks amazing with a shotgun mic on it. Thinking of pushing the SLR image a little further by getting a petal lens hood.
And right now I am torn between an AZDEN SGM-X and a RODE Videomic for matching shotgun mics. The RODE is going to be far superior but is gonna be larger than I want. The SGM-X doesn't have a shockmount like the RODE and its SPL only goes to 105dB, I think. The RODE goes to 138dB!!!

I might get petal lens hoods for them. Like I said, they do resemble a digital SLR.
