  1. Hello,
I tried to use VurtualDub to find out specs of an AVI file.
First of all, strange enough, to open it VirtualDub had to "resonstruct index block" ....
Then audio showed up as stereo 5 channels with UNKOWN TAG 2000. What's this? When I try convert it to MPEG with TMPGENC, I get no sound, I think I have all possible codex installed, maybe not? help!

I think "unknown tag 2000" is AC3 audio.

This is just a guess, but you could download the Nimo Codec pack (look on google for it I guess) and make sure the AC3 filter is installed with it (should be automaticly installed) and see if it plays then.

VirtualDub uses ACM decompressors. So install an AC3 ACM decompressor. AC3Filter is a dshow decoder. TMPGEnc also by default uses ACM, that is unless you change the dshow input priority.
