  1. I would like to convert DVD rips and DivX files to a format that allows me 60min or so on a CD and can be played on my Pioneer 343. Currently I'm using VBR SVCDs to do the job. I get pretty decent quality at about 45min on a CD.

I'm wondering if there is a good XVCD template I could try that would allow me 60min on a CD and give a picture equal to what I'm getting with the SVCD template.

I've read through some of the mpeg1 mpeg2 battle. I've found regular VCD to be poor in quality compared to the SVCD standard template. I would love to be convinced otherwise.

I'm working with NTSC. Using TMPGEnc, on a T-bird 900 with 256megs of Ram.

  2. well if you want good looking SVCD try Cinema CRaft Encoder the fastest SVCD encoder round it will leave any SVCD encoder in the dust but TMPGenc is close

and XVCD is not a SVCD stsndard its not even a stndard its just an upgrade of VCD

  3. Thanks for the response, but it doesn't really address my question.

I'm aware that XVCD is not a SVCD standard.

People are often commenting that they get near DVD quality with XVCD and I would like to see the templates/settings that they are using. Sefy's template will get you 90min on a single CD, but the quality isn't what I would like.

  4. the setting of SxVCD are enough but ask Sefy he is the one who made the Template

  5. My Templates are more designed at giving the VCD quality, i've not once claimed they would give SVCD or DVD quality, what you would need is something with a higher Bitrate and resolution, not my Templates.
