  1. Hey all,

I've been burning DVD's for the last 3 years and never had a problem I couldn't figure out using this great site!

But I just put together a new SUPER RIG and installed Nero 6.6.02 SE that came with the burner. Now I get a message when I try to burn a DVD that says "You have added DVD-Video content to a compilation that will not result in a DVD-Video compliant disc. To create discs playable on standalone DVD-Video players, please use the DVD-Video compilation type."

I just burned the very same files on my old PC using Nero 5.5.10.28 OEM, I do a UDF, X box compliant burn and it works fine. But every time I try it on my new rig I get that message. And the DVD I burned was all screwed up. I get weird sound and french language popping up and stuff.

    Any Suggestions?

  2. What's wrong with using the DVD Video template? Is something supposed to be better with the way you do it?

Did you create a VIDEO_TS folder first and put the VOBs, IFOs, BUPs into it? Then use that to burn? Won't work without this and you will get that message.

Redd, I would prefer 5.5.x also, but it won't work on some of the newer burners. You have to upgrade then.

EDIT: I'm using 6.3.1.17, and I won't upgrade unless the burner requires it. I would use the oldest version you need. The newer the version the more crap that Nero adds. I would prefer just the Nero Burning Rom part of the program and toss all the rest as I never use it.

I don't know if its better, thats just the way I always have done it.....

So yes, I made the folder VIDEO_TS, and all the corresponding files to go in it. As a matter of fat, I took the same folder and burned a perfect DVD on my old rig using an earlier version of Nero........ so that is why I am confused.

  7. Some things have changed between the two version, if I recall correctly they changed the UDF version. I think in 5.5 some options were selected and in 6.6, they're not; go through the menus and compare.

I've tried your way before; a few months ago there was a debate about 6.6 screwing up the UDF and ISO bridge and this way was supposed to fix it. I'm using 6.6.0.8 and after checking with different tools, I don't see anything wrong with the disc layout. Even the volume name shows up in full even though it didn't in Nero. I always use the video template. I've seen that error message before, I'd put a bunch of files in the root. I think it shows up, if the file names are not all capitals, too.

  9. New Nero if you use the DVD video option checks dvd compliency. Same thing also happened to me .. I took out some screens before movie played using pcgedit everything plays ok on computer but I got that error when I wanted to burn. I guess it checks to see if everything is in order , it doesn't give this error with VobBlanker. Just to be sure I burned it to RW it played ok even though I got that error. In fact it is good that it checks but scares you. Also if a file is zero size and don't copy over to burn it will give you same error but in most cases still play ok.

The older NEROs use to check for compliancy, and not proceed until you were at what they considered compliant. Later versions also check, but now giving you the option to ignore and to burn as given.

This happened when you stripped parts of the movie out (RE: correct number of VTS sets), just like you're doing now.

Plus, I would burn using the DVD-Video template instead of the UDF format. The newer NEROs are getting the UDF correct in their DVD-Video template, which in older versions wasn't correct (I think it was bad in 5.5.6.0 and below).

  11. SLK001 you are right! That is why I used to use the UDF compliant mode, but for shits and giggles I tried theDVD-Video compliant mode and it burned perfectly .

I had tried DVD-Video before but it didn't work either. The only thing I can think of is that I was burning files that were on another pc and I was accessing them through my network, I realized that after the fact. It's hard to keep up with all my storage space sometimes and I forget.

Anyway, lesson learned, lets burn one!
