    high guys

i went to the official site and dl ed the movie from bit torrent...i got the dvd version in iso format but i cant extract it using winrar and if i burn the image with nero the disc is unplayable....the following is extracted from the website:

Be aware, though, that the files are 3.5GiB and 4.3Gib respectively. Lots and lots and lots ftp software have problems with that big files. There are two limits, 2Gb and 4Gb. Some software get past the 1st hurdle (i.e. you can grab disk #1 and it works) but a good 95% of the software can't grok the 2nd hurdle, i.e. disk #2 won't work.

Most notably Internet Explorer itself handles neither of the limits well. It thinks Disk#1 is 0 MiB and disk #2 is 237 MiB due to this problem! You CAN NOT use plain old explorer to get the DVD images (all the other files work fine, though).

Stuff I do know work include, but are not limited to:

Unix "wget" for getting the files (plain command line ftp on one unix variant did NOT work)
    Windows XP's command line ftp
    CuteFTP client handles 4Gib+ files

my hd is formatted ntfs so i thought i wouldnt have any problems.....wrong....is there anything else i can try?

Extract the files using ISOBuster, or some other ISO extractor.

Downloaded from a official site via bit torrent ? I can't see them offering a Star wars dvd for download. OTH he says from a official site so he may be deluded into thinking it is legal?

    Cheers

I can't see anything to do with Star Wars in that post. It's a DVD ISO download - what indicates that it is illegal? Maybe I'm blind...
    Thanks! / Cobra

Star Wars Revelations is a fan created, 47 minute video (with terrible acting). It is completely legal to download.

The "official site" mentioned is the real official site for Revelations.

It's "freeware". Download and enjoy at will.

    isobuster to nero worked....
    thanx again slk

not a bad production...acting is b movie....sound editing couldve been better....volume leveling sucked...but all in all not a bad flick...sfx were amazing for a fan flick...took a few years to do i heard...worth the dl time for a dvd...but also available in mov an wmv for quicker viewing...

i also burned the downloaded file straight to DVD with DVD Decrypter

I agree with you zootedlooter. not bad at all
the acting is about what you'd expect from a 12th grade drama club, but these folks never claimed to be pros
the sfx were indeed spectacular for a fan production
i just don't like that it ended with a cliff-hanger -- you know they'll probably never make the follow-up....

  11. If 47 Min why two DVDs? You can tell I'm not a big fan of SW, stopped watching after Empire. Did it bother me if the DVD releases were modified? No. Colorizing old B&W doesn't bother me either as it is just as likely a budget thing rather than artistic decision.

Zootedlooter: if I'm a snitch because I want the site to stay up oh well. It was the two DVDs made me wonder.

    DVD #1 is the "movie"
DVD #2 is making of / behind the scenes.

No, you're a snitch because you did absolutely no checking to see if it was legit. A simple search of even the VH forums gives you adequate results.

  15. Star Wars revelations is a fan film. So as long as they make no money on it. It's oh ok it's not illegal. They even told people to download it on G4tv.com to check it out.

George Lucas likes fan films. He does not sue anyone for making a fan film as long as they do not make a profit on it. He even was on SCI-FI channel with Kevin Smith and gave out a reward on the best fan film for Star Wars.

I just wish George Lucas felt the same way about Episode 1-2-3 the same way he feels about the Star Wars holiday Special LOL.

    a. First time I've seen that name here.

    b. Did you notice the ?

That's why they have moderators here.

And if I used a cell phone I'd probably turn in drunk drivers and let the police decide if they're drunk or tired. Having been behind a DD until they crashed (no cell phone, no Police around) I'd turn them in.

    Have a good holiday USA

Must be with the MPAA, equating a *very slightly possible* illegal download with a drunk driver crashing. It would be more like thinking he's a drunk driver, only to find out he's having an epileptic seizure.

    Back on topic.
I'll see if I can find the link, but if you have edonkey/eMule, it works flawlessly (burn w/Decrypter & play) and is very quick (depending on your connection).

The ISO files were larger than 4GB, so be sure you have them on a NTFS system. DVD Decrypter, ISO write. At one point, the FTP address was available too. This was covered in OT about a month ago when it first came out.

the link is provided in one of my earlier posts....they have an ftp for the smaller files but the dvd is on BT....avg connect speeds look like 30-40 KB/s....use azureus or some other program wher you can disable the disc 2 dl...who needs a making of which is 2x longer than the movie itself...it cuts the dl down to about 3.5 GB...should have it in less than a day...and dont forget to seed...i also believe you can stream the video

Maybe because the point of making fan movies is often more about HOW TO DO IT than the actual finished product?

Try anonymous ftp (i used FlashFXP) from --
    Site: ftp.acc.umu.se
    path: /mirror/media/StarWars-Revelations/

Got both ISOs, burned fine with Burnatonce and Nero 6.6
