    what are .sub and .idx and what to do with them. Also my friend gave me one of his movie he mad at night, and its kind of dark. Is there anyway to lightened it up so I can see it better.

    subtitles. How can I put them with the file that someone gave to me. can I use nero tmpengc or something like those.

    You could try winavi video converter or cucusoft. I think they supports subs if you install vsfilter.

    OK, I have the winavi converter and just installed the filter. How will go about trying to accomplish this task.

  6. Why reencode? If you have VobSub installed, and the subtitles are named the same as the movie (Movie.avi, Movie.idx, and Movie.sub), those subs will display just fine.
