  1. I bought DVD player(DV-434) from http://www.world-import.com last week and having problem playing PAL VCDs which I got from the dealer in Asia. This DVD player suppose to be codefree and can play DVD/VCD/CD/CD-R from all 6 region. I have no problem playing NTSC DVDs and VCDs.

I am not sure if there is problem with PAL VCD or DVD player itself. Can any body tell me how I can test DVD player for PAL VCD or DVD. I only have couple of VCDs which came from one dealer and wondering may be VCDs have problem

    Thank in advance

What's your tv display in pal or ntsc ? It's a display format. You can buy a code free dvd player, but that has nothing to do with the display output.

  3. my family's had 3 different pioneer players (414, 525, 343) and they all play NTSC, NTSC film, and PAL VCDs with no problem. i have no PAL DVDs though, and i think only the 535 and a couple more expensive ones have the dual output capability for both PAL and NTSC TVs. but this doesn't stop you from watching a PAL VCD on an NTSC set. VCDs aren't region coded either.

try downloading the PAL demo discs either in the "WHAT IS" or "TOOLS" sections. my guess would be either a bad VCD or whoever modified the played messed up.

  4. I have tenlab converter which I connected between DVD player and TV but I get blue screen when play PAL vcd. I am in US and I have NTSC TV, but it does not matter since it is going through tenlab converter. I know the the VCD is in PAL MPEG-1 VCD.

    Any suggestion
