  1. have just installed this pci card on a PC with amd 3400+(2800mhz) 1gb ram and a fx5200 video card.

I am dissapointed with the capture results, so far.

I used a British jvc vcr with 2mb dnr/tbc and a datavideo 1000 tbc and tried the mediacruise to capture with and both Ulead and TDA to author.

I tried both the full setting 720 and the ?half setting, the result. is very noisy.

Any suggestions, is there better capture software, what are the best settings on mediacruise.

    Thank you very much.

the problem is the AMD chip more than likely.. ive heard of peopel having problems with canopus products and AMD chips. the MVR-1000sx card is an EXCELLENT mpeg-2 capture card. I have seen it in action in a professional video studio environment, it works flawlessly when configured on a pentium 4 system. I havent seem it working on an AMD system before, so i dont truly knwo the answer to yoru question.
A penny saved is a waste of time. One in the hand is only worth 0.5 in the bush. A stitch in time saves nothing.
