u opened the gates of hell really. this discussion could go on for months without u getting ur answer. keyword here is : BUDGET.

how much r u willing to pay. for the purpose u suggested we can safely put out the 30$ usb 2 converters. so we're left with actual cards.

for that u can check this link here.

my personal experience with Matrox was great, so if budget is no issue, u can treat urself with a massive RTX100 from Matrox.

    Good Luck

Your other post indicates you have already purchased Canopus Edius software. Your first option is to evaluate the supported realtime cards for that software: Canopus DVRaptor RT2, DVStorm and DVRex RT

These cards allow import of DV or analog video (ADVC option) into a realtime DV editing environment. That is what you were requesting on the other post.

Evaluate this package as an entry point and move up to higher hardware if you think you need it.

As a separate project, get a hardware MPeg capture card like a PVR-250 or higher if you can afford it.

For the budget u stated u definetly can go for MATROX RTX100 with Adobe Suite that includes Premiere Pro + After effects +Encore + Audition if u dont have them aready.

If u do have them u can get the card for around 700$ or so.

Not sure about ur Nvidia graphic card though, u should check on there site:

    www.matrox.com

If what edDV said was true regarding Canopus, I guess u have some research to conduct on ur own to check for compatibility. The link I provided in my earlier reply would help.
