I'm having trouble burning some files to DVD and/or VCD. The files are avi files. I have been able to burn these files before but not now. When I try to burn Nero will let me get to the page where it says "Burn" in the bottom right corner. Then right after it starts transcoding? an error message pops up and says:

    Error
OS: Windows XP Home Edition, SP2
CPU: GenuineIntel, Intel Pentium 4, MMX @ 0 MHz

    Application data:
    VmVyc2lvbjogVVVKZFExQlRWbHRFVFVOSFF5c29PU2M1QndBNk pUOCt
    MVzk3WjJOck1DRWpQeU1rTTBGeGVIQjBaWE01DQpJbWFnZUJhc 2U6ID...........................and on and on.

For the life of me I cannot figure this out. All spyware has been deleted and no viruses. If anyone can help me figure this out it is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

have you tryed to update nero,or uninstall and reinstall.
if your trying to make a dvd outta avi files, try divxtodvd from vso,its good, and you can then burn with nero if you want.

  3. Try updating Nero(v6.3 has problems with SP2) or reinstall Nero and disable Hyper-Threading in your BIOS.

I updated Nero yesterday but it didn't help with my problem. So re-installing would be the best bet??

and disable Hyper-Threading in your BIOS.
    What is that

HT is on all new P4's(>2.4GHz) and is only utilized on certain programs(ie video and audio encoders),I have noticed that if I activate it in my BIOS it causes some programs to lock up or crash. What it does is split the L2 cache so it appears to Windows as a dual CPU,the problem is very programs take advantage of it.
When booting up hit Delete,F12,etc to enter BIOS and disable.
