I want to convert some old vhs home movies to DVD.
What format should I save the vhs capture?
I'm using ATI AIW to record, it has vcr, avi, mpeg, and wmf.
I want to be able to play the DVD on any DVD player (one that is hooked to TV)
I have nero to burn with.
I assume there is a specific format for the DVD to be usable on standard players?
Thanks

good article,
thanks
Now, is the DVD format governed by the software doing the burning or do I have to convert to some unique format (before burning) so that the DVD disc can be taken to any player and played like a rental movie?
ThanksRobert

For proper authoring to dvd before burning, your vid file has to be of compliant mpeg.
