Hi, last December 25th me and some friends were recording outdoors and one of us tripped on some hard snow and my Panasonic PV-DV953 hti the ground a bit harsh. Anyway, ever since then when plugging my DVC into a FireWire port on the card doesn't make the New Hardware Wizard pop-up. I have read about bent pins and damaged ports but none of this really makes any sense to me because I've never gotten a real good look at the actual port on the DVC for the FW.
Anyway, I took the best picture I could with my 6.2 megapixel digital camera, so here it is. Can anyone tell me if it looks ok, or if I need to get closer for proper judgement?

the area looks a bit dirty and there's something rust colored in there, although it could just be the high-zoom shot and light playing tricks on me. anyway the important stuff doesn't look damaged.

Yeah, probably the high zoom and light because it doesn't look that way normally. Hmm, I need to get a magnifying glass or something...

Man, the only magnifying glass we have sucks and my camera doesn't like to zoom in on things really close. Sheesh, that really makes me angry. I've been trying to find a place local that does repairs on video cameras but haven't had much luck so far. I really want to upload video again.
