  1. Hi there, i was wondering if anyone knows of software that can seperate vocals from music? like in a song, if you're not too fond of the artist's voice, is there a way to just get the music part out of it?

    Thanks a bunch!

  2. If it is one track,I dont think there is a way or it will not be Easy....,If there is two tracks (Vocal) and (Music) then you can just separate them.

Try GoldWave. Look in the tool's to the Left<<< for more.

analog-X vocal remover can do a good job. Most of these tools are based ont he same theory - that in general the vocal track is recorded identically in both tracks of a stereo recording. By inversing the wave of one channel, and overlaying it on the other channel, anything identical in both will be cancelled out. This works great if the vocal is the only thing they have the same. Often there is more though, so you may find part or all of the percussion (for example) disappears. Often backing vocals are not recorded the same in both, so while the main vocals may get removed, the backing vocals can often be faintly heard.

Finally, most of these struggle to get really clean output from mp3 source files as the mp3 compression screws the stereo seperation and muddies the tracks.

The very top of th eline versions of this type of software also use eq adjustment to try to get to just the frequencies of th vocals without touching anything else. I haven't had much of a play with these.
