  1. Hi, I just authored my first DVD using ULead, and I was only able to put just over an hour of video on the disc before it was full. How would I go about putting more on a disc (preferably 2 hours or a little more) while still keeping the video at full screen?

I'm a total, complete and utter newbie, please don't assume I know anything...

    Thanks for the help!

    ulead dvd workshop?
    ulead dvd moviefactory?
    ulead videostudio?

you can store several hours/dvd but it depends what software you are using. check for bitrate settings.

As recommended, your bitrates for your project properties need to be checked.

I suspect your project properties contain LPCM audio -- which uses ALOT of space. Go with Dolby Digital audio instead (if your version has that option). If you don't have the DD Audio option, you could go with mpeg audio. Note: mpeg audio not an NTSC Standard, so some NTSC DVD Players will not play mpeg audio. It should be fine for PAL discs.

I also suspect your video bitrate in your project properties to be ~8000kbps -- I would drop that down to between 6000-7000kbps for the video.

For instance, audio at 224kbps, and video bitrate at 6500kbps will let you get about 90 minutes on a DVD5 disc.

If the source is home camcorder DV material, you may want to stay with 1hr/DVD.

For TV recording this is excessive.

  6. I'm actually converting some eps of Justice League Unlimited onto DVD so I can watch 'em on my TV, I was hoping to be able to get more than 3 eps on each disc. I'm using ULead MovieFactory, is there a better program I should seek out?
