I recently bought a DVD burner and have have been using DVDShrink to for those DVD-9 to DVD-5 backups. One thing that I noticed however that has been annoying me immensely. Why can't any of these shrinking programs compress the audio to something like mp2? I'm not hugely picky about audio quality but I am about picture quality. Could somebody please point me in the right direction regarding this. I would be extrememly grateful....
Thanks!

Unless the only audio available is LPCM, there's not much gained in compressing the audio. But I think I've seen a guide on how to replace LPCM audio with AC3/MP2.

Convert the ac3 to mpa. But you wont gain that much bitrate, around 448kbits(ac3) to 192 or 160 kbits.
