    Hi

I have searched for 2 hours in your forums and others to find no post like this one. Whenever i use Nero recode DVD to burn dvds that are on my harddrive, it always comes up with the out of memory error when burning. Why is this? Ive wasted more than 25 DVDs, before it would work sometimes, now it wont burn a DVD at all with out this stupid out of memory error. Please understand my frustration about this, for i have spent a lot of time looking for answers on this problem.

    Im currently using a...

NEC 3520 burner set as master on a seperate ide channel.
    Dual xeons at 3 ghz
    4 gigs of DDR memory
    3 SCSI U320 drives
    1 160gig IDE drive
Windows XP Pro with all the lastest drivers SP2
    Quadro 3000
Nero 6.608 before and now 6.812 (unistalled and reinstalled also)

I can not see how i could have such an error such as out of memory with 4 gigs of memory that i have, but every time i get this error. Why is this? The pagefile i set is huge, and i have tried leaving the DVD files on all my drives but it still comes up with the out of memory problem. And yes i have installed windows xp again before.

Please, help me with this problem.

Ensure that the DMA is set for your IDE controllers.
See the following for how to set the DMA.

  3. It's really incredible, I'ven't this problem with my 128 MB, I can't believe it!
Annyway have you tried to burn an image or a DVD folder and then burn it with some other tool (Nero Burning Rom, or your favorite DVD burning tool)?

I have all those settings correct, DMA is on but its on Ultra DMA 2. Should it be at that speed?

If not how do i change it?

Currently i do not have any other burning tool besides Roxio 5.0 which doesnt support dvd burning, so i wouldnt have any idea.

  5. After 25 coasters I'd be shredding those Nero install discs and swearing to never ever use "Zero" again.
There isn't a whole lot of expanation for that error message on your system other than Nero not liking it. That is unless, your drives are slam full and there's no more room to work.

I think you are either out of disk space on one of the needed drives, or your machine is so unusual that you have discovered a new bug.

I would suggest the following, reinstall the IDE drivers, and check to see if there are any setup values that pertain to the DMA mode. Some motherboards have this in the setup.

By the way, install the newest version of the drivers.

Okay, i have uninstalled and then reinstalled the latest drivers, yet i still get this error, even after unistalling it completely.

How big should i set the page file to if have 4 gigs of memory (only 3 is shown in windows) and should i put a page file on all the drives?

Also, what other good program alternatives are there to put a regular dvd movie into a 4.7 gig DVD?

    Thanks

Have you run Memtest86 to test your memory? (may take a long time with that amount)

Also , try removing some memory (try leaving only 2GB in). I seem to recall reading somewhere that nero is not designed to work with such a large amount (4GB) of memory... but I could be mistaken. Have you tried contacting Ahead?

Another thought... does Nero support dual CPUs? Again, you might want to check if nero supports such a system setup.
