  1. has anyone managed to convert the latest lord of the rings trailer to avi or mpeg.

    I have found it impossible.

  2. It uses Sorensen 3 as a codec. I can convert it, but I'm busy coding for a while. Ask someone into vcd who uses Mac OS X otherwise.

If all else fails, mail me at iup810g@yahoo.com and I'll make it happen.

Use QT-read then TMPGenc can open the file (I made a SVCD of it in about 45 min, 2pass VBR).

Some QT-files can only be converted (to uncompressed avi for examp.) with RadTools. If the audio is lost, use TotalRecorder for that, mix them with VirtualDub and convert to wath you want

    ( see: http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/4942/svcd.html )

    Begin again. Go here:
    http://www.apple.com/trailers/newline/fellowship_of_the_ring/index.html

Download the rather large zip file of the quicktime trailer. Unzip and open up TMPGEnc. Deselect all readers in the VFAPI plug-ins except for the mov reader, increase its priority to 4 and encode with the template of your choice.

    Works for me...
