  1. Hi all. I have just bought a brand new JVC S-VHS player and I am trying to capture some of my American NTSC video tapes (I'm in Australia), but, everytime I start capturing using VirtualVCR or Roxio 7, the picture is coming out in black & white. I have changed all the settings to work in the NTSC format, 720 or 704 X 480, 29.97 f/sec and NTSC M. My new machine does have NTSC playback and all the settings on it seem to be right. I tried using an older Panasonic VHS player, with NTSC playback, and it did the same thing.
I have absolutly no idea why it is doing this or what I might be doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated and if this will help, I'm using a Conexant 2388x video card and an SVideo cable. Thankyou

    Matthew (very frustrated)

  3. Does your VCR provide NTSC playback for PAL televisions? That could be the problem. The video output of the VCR would need to be set for NTSC televisions in order to capture NTSC.

If that's not it, double check your s-video cable. Maybe you have a bad (or bent) chroma signal pin.
