I turned on my PC...and some shit came up before I could read it and disappeared. THEN, my firewall was down (Sygate). It wouldn't turn back on. Then I tried running spybot and Ad-ware, didn't work until I was in safe-mode, then got some junk off the PC. Ran my virus scan...nothing.
Anyway, I brought up the task manager and saw this shit in there. Anybody have a clue. Still...I re-installed sygate and NOTHING...it won't start up.
Also...it seems that unless I'm in safe-mode...none of the firewall or spyware stuff works at all

Make sure you update SpyBot and Ad-ware to the latest versions and scan again. You might want to disconnect from the internet and turn off 'Restore' in XP also, to keep them from reloading again.
In your task manager are your referring to the Japanese? characters? Everything else seems normal to me, anyway.
There are a couple of trojans that can disable both antivirus and software firewalls. I've had it happen myself.
You might also go to TrendMicro and use their free scan http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and see if they can find anything.
Lastly, if all else fails, run regedit and search for those processes names and see if you can find them. Just be careful about deleting things there. Backup the registry first. -
Thanks...the characters look Japanese, but I don't think they mean anything, and I've never seen them before.
I did update both spybot and ad-ware and disconnected from the internet while running them. I'll try TrenMirco and see if that finds anything...
I just hope I don't have to format anything..DAMNSmileSmile

Update...
On TrendMirco, what does it mean when it's uncleanable. Does that mean I have to somehow go in there an sort it out myself?SmileSmile

If you read the bottom of the page it tells you when "uncleanable" comes up just "delete" the file...
"Quit Playing With The Clock..."

OK...I was able to manually delete the files, but it still won't let me use sygate or start up spybot and ad-ware unless in safe mode. I think a re-install is needed...**** this sucks.

You might have to turn off System restore for the file to be really deleted.

Tried that...didn't work...and I've been the better part of my day-off formatting and getting stuff back up...damn...

This can help sometimes when the OS is trashed- at least allows access to the drive volume to scan, delete, et..
