Philips DVP 642/37
player worked fine 5 months.
Now it cannot read any CD, but still reading any DVD.
I cleaned, checked.
Please, any suggestions!

The DVD player actually has 2 lasers. One for reading CD's and another for reading DVD's. Likely the one that reads CD's is burned out. If that's the case, you will only be able to use your player for DVD's and DVD-R's.

From what I've read here on this forum, in America you only get a 90-day warranty, but in Canada you get 180 days. If you are in Canada, I would take it back for a new one.
