  1. Is there going to be any type of subtitle implementation in the next release? I've used the old-fashioned method w/ ffmpeg, but I was hoping for a more simplified approach to import the .srt (or other) files.

I may take a look at subtitles at a later date..... What was the old-fashioned method BTW?

I hope that the "later date" changes to "very soon"....
You have developed a great program, sir!
Ease of use, fine quality......I was so impressed that I decided to register to get the full power of it's capacity.
The only thing that keeps me away from using it all the time,is the lack of support for subtitles.
Lots of concurrential programs support them these days, and although the video quality of most of them is from inferior quality compared to svcd2dvd,foreign users who are looking for an all-in-one solution will go by svcd2dvd and choose for the program with subtitle support....
This is a real shame, because such peeps will never know how good svcd2dvd really is.....

I shall take a look at subtitles after v2 gets released, with a view to include support in a latter release.... could be sooner or later....

I know that the DVD spec is a bit of a nightmare wrt subtitles, and there are many types of subtitle formats but i like a challenge!

  5. Thank you for the reply.
I'm a n00b,so sorry if this is a stupid question.....but can't you implant a program like SpuMux to add subtitle functionality?
Anyway,THX for looking in to it,even if us non-english speaking have to wait a while before it's implanted,it will be worth the waiting.

SpuMux may help but I still need to deal with the authoring and the parsing of the srt files or similar... also the bmp creation of the text... and PAL/NTSC conversions which will screw the subtitle timings up....

I have a few bits of code (to do with the menu buttons - which are basically the same as subtitles) which will act as a starting point for all this but it is quite a major feature request.

That said i think it would be a good addition so i will work on it as soon as v2 is out of the door.

  7. THX,this is what I (and many others) hoped for!
I wish that the big companies learned from guys like you how to properly support their products.
I'm very happy that a friend recommended me your program!

  8. I agree 100% with roady, this program is the best out there and once the subtitle support is integrated into the program it will be an all complete program for all my svcd2dvd needs. Keep up the good work and support ChrissyBoy.
