  1. Hi, I have a thumb drive and would like to use it in order to watch my shows easier, is there a dvd player that has support for a usb port that I can play things like avi's/mpgs/pics from?

  2. There is a memory card reader at Best Buy that has a USB port on it. I wish I knew the brand, but just go the camera department and it is a large reader.

  3. I'm considering getting the RjTECH RJ-350PDVX Portable DVD Player W/ MPEG4 & DIVX Support. It supports USB 1.1. I know it's a dumb question but really know not much about the change in format. My 2.0 thumb will work in a 1.1 right? If you guys can tell me if this is a good buy I would really appreciate it. Gonna get it tomorrow if all goes well.

2.0 USB devices will work on a 1.X usb port AFAIK but at 1.X speeds. This BTW will be an issue if you want to play the video directly from the device since USB 1 is not fast. DV-AVI for example it can't handle, lower bitrate video may work but I really I have no idea.

DivX/XviD type compressed stuff is supposed to work fine. Some people here buy the LG with memory card support, replace the memory card reader with a USB port and use an external HDD.

USB 1.1 is too slow to watch a DVD on

but POWER DVD can play an "OPEN DVD ON HARD DISC DRIVE" from my 2.0 USB jump drive by LEXAR, just fine

  7. Sorry I didn't specify, unless I didn't understand your replies?
I want to hook the player up to my tv. My tv is big, computer screen way too small. I saw some full size dvd players that I think had usb 2.0 but they were 300$. The 1.1 is only 70$.
    Can't decide...

  8. The RJTech office is only 20mi away from me so I called them up and they said I could go down and test out their players.
The divx files on cd's ran perfectly, however the divx files on my thumb drive did not play that well. The video for the most kept up but the audio was horrible. After a little bit it would start to break up and then the mouths wouldn't match. A cryin' shame. I really hoped it'd work.
Guess I'll have to buy a $300 one or wait till they start produced good dvd players with usb 2.0 ports.
