Alright I am now officially addicted to this forum...I am failing school, they are about to fire me at work...and this new obsession of mine started with only one thing...to be able to watch the ORIGINAL Star Wars Trilogy in WIDESCREEN on my DVD player. I am only doing my old VHS stuff now (to practice up), but I would love to hear what tools and settings more experienced people have used to make their LD conversions look great.

Any help would be much appreciated

P.S. there are some LD posts on this forum, but they are all just bits and peices...

  2. Although this idea is not legal, this job has already been done for you. There are many SVCDS you can find all over the net that converted from LD to SVCD or DivX. They both look bloody good I tell you.

I know this isn't really an answer to your post, so I apologize. But, think about it.

yeah...thanks for NOT answering my question...I know all of you are using DSL and Cable Modem and I hate you all ...but some of us are still behind 56K *sigh*. Plus I am really planning to put these on SVCD now, or should I say temporarily. I plan to encode at 352x480 so that I can take them to DVD when the time comes. I personally think that whenever GL gets around to realeasing the original three films on DVD, they will be the Special Editions since they were the films that he "wanted" to make. Me, I would prefer to have the original to show to my kids.
