  1. I have used 2 different versions of dvd-rb (.84 and .77) and various settings to try and backup Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.

After dvd-rb scans the files and it kicks into CCE I get a checksum failed error and the file will not continue unless I press ok. Well when I click OK it just comes up again. And again and again.

I know that the disc contains multiangles/interleaved, does anyone know how I can back this disc up successfully? Can you point me to a link explaining some of the things I need to do?

  3. DVDREasy supports CCE....
That doesn't solve your DVDRB problem, but might allow you to make the backup you want.

  4. The error comes from CCE I believe. Seems like it try to use and old vaf file with new avisynth script. Look at the directory where the output from CCE is located and delete every vaf file you see there. Then try again.

  5. Use DVD Decrypter and DVD shrink. It will be the first movie file. Thats what it was on mine. I had to backup twice since my kids love Star Wars so much the watch them all every week.

  6. Well I found out that it is from VTS 04, which is whatever extras...If I just click ok on the checksum CCE error, then abort cce and allow it to continue until it gets to the main VTS then it continues uninhibited. But I aborted totally because I don't know if it will mess up the encode and result in unplayability.

I was going to just blank the vob with Vobblanker, but it doesn't support ILvu or multiangles.

  7. I went ahead and processed the dvd with vobblanker. I had to reenable the processing of the vts with the multiangles as vobblanker automatically sets to SKIP, but no biggie. It processed just fine and tonite I'll run it through cce and I'll know in the morning if it turns out ok.

  8. Well, ladies and gents, no go. Didn't work. Darn thing was all the way at the end and did it again. Forget it. I won't back-up something such as this with a transcoder. I guess the kiddies are going to have to be a little more careful with their dvd's.

  9. Not what you're looking to do, but if you reauthor and lose the extra angles, it'll work. I reauthored the first title in Shrink, no compression, and ran it through DVDRB.

Uh, did you check multiangle processing in DVDDecrypter? Settings -> File Mode. Don't know if it's relevant, I always reauthor movie only. Good luck.

  10. I would have done that but I want to keep the menu. I like the menus. Star Wars menus are quite cool too.

I thought of getting a demo of CloneDVD and doing the same thing, but the last time I tried that, DVDRB/cce had problems with it. I didn't want to waste the time.

    Thanks for the tip though.

When you're ripping it, have DVD Decrypter only rip the first angle.
