  1. Hi

I just authored a DVD and it plays just fine on my PC. But when I try to play it in my standalone DVD player the audio keeps coming and going in a regular rythmic pattern.

I converted my AVI files to M2V using Premiere Pro and the 2 Pass VBR option. Afterwards I authored it using DVD-Lab. Audio was rendered 48KHz 16bit.

Does the audio sample rate have something to do?

What could I be doing wrong?

Yes, but 48kHz is what it should be.

No idea, but what codec are you using, and what bit rate?

Is this on everything, or just menus ?
Do you have a slideshow and does it do the same ?

  4. I didn't create menus. It's just a movie.

I tested the DVD on another player and it plays just fine. And it plays fine on the PC also.

I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro Media Encoder with variable bitrate. Max 9000 and minimun 2000. Target 7500.

Could be that at peaks, max bitrate is exceeded. Try lowering the max bitrate to 8000 (I know you're within DVD specs, but not all players the full DVD specs.)

I'm guessing that "Target" means average bitrate. 7500 is well above what is used on retail DVD's. 6000 is the maximum you should use as average. 6000 average bitrate is used in most retail DVD's. 7500 average could be was causing your DVD player to choke. Some DVD players are more tolerant of out of spec recordings. 9000 maximum(peak) should not be a problem unless your audio is uncommpressed PCM(WAV). If you used a 9000 peak with PCM audio your upto 10,600 which is too high.
