Now, you're trying to copy some burnt DVDs, yes ? (I assume that's what you mean by saying that they're not originals)

And you get an error at the exact same percent every time ?

What burning software are you using ?

What error are you getting ?

As the darkest of all stabs in the dark, I'd say you're getting a Cyclic Redundancy Check error, which means that your DVD Drive can't read the disc. If this is the case, try cleaning the DVD. Alternatively, try using a different DVD drive to rip.
    If in doubt, Google it.

All of his DVDs are burnt on Ritek/Ridata disks and cannot be read. I have the same problem with all of my DVD backups on Ritek/Ridata disks. I can open all the VOBs in VirtualDubMod OK but every other program gives me the redundancy error.

There are two options here. Either rerip the originals or spend hours recoding all the VOBs in VirtualDubMod and using VSO DivXToDVD and DVDshrink or TDA to reauthor and burn your DVDs. Reripping the originals is the quickest and easiest option.

  6. Try and rip with the latest DvdDecrypter.

if it is the dreaded cyclic redundancy check error, you might try ripping with a different dvd-rom/burner..

Are you using labels coz i had the same problem but after much searching on this brilliant site i removed labels and hey presto sorted.

Don't use labels!!! If you have used them spray a little WD40 on the label leave for 5 mins and it will peel off.

Trust me i know this from experience.

Don't know how buying a new burner is going to help. I'm sure the reason that he is trying to rip them from a copy is because he doesn't have the original and the copy won't play correctly in his standalone DVD player.

The reason the copy won't play in his DVD player is because it was burnt on cheap media.

If he had the original, he could rip it again without getting the cyclic redundancy error and then burn to a reliable media that will play on his DVD player.

On the first disct it have an error at 98 percent and other is in the mid 50 percent. I use TDK dual layer dvd burner and using Nero and Roxio to burn it but same thing happen.
