    Hi there
    I'm very new to this and i'm trying to burn dvd's from .avi file I have.
    I'm running Mac OS 10.3.9 on a PowerBook G4 Superdrive.
    So far I have understood that I need ffmpegX and Toast6 from Roxio.
    The problem I have is that the files (the .avi's are generally 700MB or so) wont fit onto a 4.7GB dvd-r......
    Can somebody walk me through how to achieve my goal in easy steps?

    Not sure I really understand the link you gave....
    Could you elaborate for me please....
    I'm trying to convert an .avi file into DVD to watch through my telly and set top DVD box and burn it onto a 4.7GB DVD-R
