DivX DVD Players

i was thinking about buying a dvd player that also plays DivX,XviD,avi files.. i have saw some for very good prices.. i just have one question though.. on the dvd player i have now i can play mpeg files but i cannot fast forward the files. i can only play and pause. if i ffw or rwd it starts over.. but anyways just wondering if any of you out there that have dvd players that support DivX if its the same way? can i rewind and ffwd the divx files or do they work just like mpeg works on the player?? any help greatly appreciated.. thanks

My Norcent 220 allows me to FF and RW through Divx/XVID/MPG files fine. It allows 2x, 4x, 8x, and 16x with raw files, 2x, 4x, and 8x with standard DVDs.

hey steve, i have a question about divx players.
i dont really get how they work, am i right in thinking if i download an xvid or divx type of avi and burn it to a cdr as a normal data cd, if my dvd plays xvid and divx it will just play the movie through. If this is the case and i then delete the file from my hard drive, can i put the burnt cd back into my pc, copy the file accross to my pc and encode it as a VCD or whatever if required??
