Did anyone watch last night's episode of CSI?

Did it look like it was another spinoff episode similar to the CSI/CSI: Miami crossover episode?

I can't imagine they would want to put out a 4th CSI. They are already flooding TV with crime dramas, let alone more spinoffs (i.e. Law and Order).

i loved the first csi in las vegas. but after they started the first spinoff, i stopped watching. IMO they're just trying to breathe new life into a show just to make more money off of it.

My wife and I watched it, and when they introduced the woman from the LAPD and the guy from The Wedding Singer, we both looked at each other and said "SPINOFF!"

Anyone see a "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" coming?

    Hello,

I hear you shadowmistress - but remember cop shows and tv have been together since tv was invented. Basically you can't have one without the other....

  7. Was that the one set in New York? If so, I've actually just seen it on DVD (CSI: Miami, Season 2, Disc 6, Episode 3)! What a fluke, if so.

I don't like the blue cast in it, I didn't like the characters...

I thought the original series set in LA was the best. CSI: Miami is OK, but I find it a bit repetitive as Shadowmistress does.

  9. shadowmistress you are not alone.

every night seems like crime night down here. its gotten so bad that they have now introduced a whole channel of crime shows on cable.

its why i increasingly turn my tv off. unless ofcorse they put on the daily show with John Stewart.

    smearbrick1,

That's exactly what my wife and I said to each other too. Guess we weren't alone in noticing it. CSI:LA coming soon - most likely. But it's hard to be sure. There was only the woman in charge (I don't remember her name or rank) and one CSI type guy in it (that I noticed, anyway), so where are all the characters?

With Miami and NY, they were pretty clear that these were gonna be spinoffs, but with this one? Maybe it was just a trial balloon to see what kind of feedback they'd get.

We discussed the "tint" thing a while back in a thread when CSI:NY was new. I don't like it any more than Cobra - the original CSI wasn't tinted, but Miami has that annoying red cast on the entire show, and NY has the blue cast (NYPD Blue? ) and LA...just has our famous smoggy haze

Where will it stop? When people get sick of the whole thing. For now, it seems like the public isn't tired of it, although they could take the plot from most CSI shows and interchange them between LV, Mia, and NY. The original is best, but because William Petersen is showing up less and less (by his choice) it's taken a noticeable turn downwards. They splintered up the people and the plots aren't as intriguing as they once were, IMO.

It was once one of my favorite shows, now I'd rather watch NCIS than CSI, more likeable characters and better plots IMHO.

CSI isn't the first show to go downhill after becoming successful, but it's too bad they have to dilute it with so many spinoffs.

First it was the comedy family sitcoms. Then it was the reality shows. Now the gruesome murder scenes. Wonder what's next to dominate the tube?

That was the beauty of a show like The X-Files. No spinoffs (AFAIK), to the point where addicts I know would almost religously take their phones off the hook for an hour each week, and would spend three days a week talking about it around the water coolers - for two days before they would say how much they are looking forward to the next episode, then the next day how good last night's episode was.

    IMO it's like your mistress / wife / girlfriend / **** buddy:
Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen ...
    If in doubt, Google it.

  13. X Files spin off was the Lone Gunmen but it only lasted a season or two if my memory serves me correctly.

It wasn't too bad a show.
