Hey everyone, this is probably a stupid question, but I knew you guys would have the answer. It's a matter of which type of card I could use for analog as well as digital video capture.

Here's what I have to work with now:

    1. AGP - ATI 9800 Radeon Pro 128MB
    2. PCI - ATI TV Wonder Pro (video capture card)

    a. Can you capture analog and digital video on an AGP card like mine?
    b. And, if so, which is better: capping with PCI or AGP?

I would assume that if AGP capping is best then maybe I should invest in one of ATI's All in Wonder cards. If PCI is best, I don't know which way to go.

Thanks for your opinions and advice, Randy

  2. The 9800 has output but no in.- no capping.

You'd have to use the TV in for capping. What you have is in a sense, an AIW only on 2 separate cards. True the AGP bus has more bandwidth but the PCI capture route is plenty enough by itself. Now it's a mater of software for ya.

Your 9800 is the primary graphics adapter and your TV wonder becomes your capture card- not bad at all.
