Can anyone reccommend any filters in VirtualDub for cartoon TV-Captures? I am currently using Warp Sharp, Temporal Smoother, and HSV Adjust. I want it to look smooth and I want it to flow smoothly. However, the smoother doesn't give the effect i'm looking for. If anyone can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

What is the reason for filtering?

The reason is: my raw captures don't look good and I want to fix them up to make them sharper looking and smooth.

Converting from what source to what output?

As far as "sharper looking" you cannot surpass the source by much.
    Garbage in = garbage out.

I see you have an Analog capture card (per your details)
I have that card (on the shelf, collecting dust for me)
It's a good capture card (like all capture cards) but it
does exhibit noise in the capture. No matter how clean
the source is (ie, dvd; cable; satellite; etc) its going
to exhibit noise (or line noise) in your captured avi.
I know, becuase I've used it for many years, and complained
about it, and waisted a lot of time for it, till I replaced
    it w/ something else anyways.

When I encoded the avi's this card produced, I used TMPG 's
filter. I used only small values, because the noise is not
saveior ( <- spelling ) You only want enough to get rid of
the noise (sometimes black horizonatal lines, other times,
    something else)
    .
But, the problem w/ TMPG (as most here know) it's pretty slow
at filtering, let alone, encoding. Anyways. It's still good.

There's another filtering technique that has been floating
around by Fulci. see Fulcilives' Convolution3D tutorial, that uses
AVIsynth scripts. Look in one of the guides. I believe in his
filtering param setup, small values are used as well, and produces
good results, based on user response. So, do look into it and give
it a try. It'll probably work better, (is faster) and please report
    back, your success

    * Requires: AVIsynth, and
    * Plugin: Convolution3d.dll

    I can't find his guide

He really made it difficult to locate, and as a 'newbie' looking for
a particular guide, I don't know where to go - oh well. If I find it,
I'll post it.., since he didn't include it in his sig (like most people)

I'll have to get on his case about it at a later date perhaps

How to use AviSynth with the Convolution3D "video noise"
    filter including editing with VirtualDubMod

This guide explains how to edit an AVI in VirtualDubMod and then import
your edits into AviSynth. However the main focus is on how to properly
use the Convolution3D "video noise" filter.

    My notes..
Look closely at the param values in Convolution3D() and modify accordingly.
