  1. Hey guys
    I got a SVCD here that is PAL format
    And my dvd player is being a HO
    When I put in the burnt cd by skipping the frames

    I have looked at the framerate conversion guides
    And the one guide that uses a
    d2v file in tmpgenc doesnt work when I try it everytime

    The other guide give me another problem to
    So, I am curious as to what is the easiest way to convert
    A Pal SVCD to NTSC SVCD
    I releaize that the audio and video both have to be converted
    Then remerged again and burnt
    I am using 5 proggies atm to try this one way I thought off
    Waiting for it to finish

    So, whats the easiest way to convert?

    Buy an all multi-format player. It's the quickest and easiest way to get really good results.

  5. Well, I tried the other method

    I remerged the video and audio
    And Nero tells me its not a valid SVCD file
    It needs to encode it

    I dont have the NERO DVD Plugin
    And I doubt the dvd plugin will do better at encoding it anyway
    Then tmpgenc Plus.

    So, im not sure
    Since the problem is because
    The SVCD video is formatted in PAL
    If I did the region DVD Code hack for the DV-454
    Onto my DV-353, would that fix it??
    The DVD player would then be able to play the PAL and it shouldnt skip.
    What about that besides completely re-encoding the SVCD in NTSC.

    The region code hack is just that, region codes only. Your problem is format. Changing the region codes doesn't influence format in any way.

  7. So, anyway
    I did the hack and opened up all my regions

    This is what I dont understand
    I had first put the SVCD PAL into my DVD Player
    It loaded the disc no problem
    Played perfectly fine and no jumping in the frames.

    The second time I put it on, the DVD Player read it
    I pressed play and the screen on the tv went to grayscale all of a sudden
    The movie started to play and it was jumping all over the place.

    Thats what I dont understand
    Is it a problem with the laser or settings??
    Any suggestions?>
    Its a Pioneer DV-353, Silver Color.

  8. I rip my r2 dvds to my hd to make them r0, then burn and play them back on a pal/ntsc player into my dvr and record them as NTSC.

    Assuming, for the moment, that your player is multi-format, is your TV ?

    Multi-format players provide a variety of output formats (not all players provide all options though), including

    NTSC -> PAL Native (25fps)
    NTSC -> PAL60 (60fldps)
    PAL-> NTSC native (29.976 fps)
    PAL-> NTSC50 (50fldps)

    Not all NTSC Televisions can handle NTSC50, and not all PAL televisions can handle PAL60. Ideally, you want a multi-format television so that not conversion is necessary (my setup is like this). Failing that, conversion to a true format, rather than a pseudo one is preferred. Go through the options in your player to see what control you have over output format, especially when outputing from a PAL source. You have just got lucky the first time, or the player has an auto setting that doesn't always get it right.

  10. You talking about
    Output settings??

    I will check it out, but im still lost on this issue
    I been looking on the net now for 5 hrs at work
    I havent found much info about this

    I am starting to think its the TV.
    But I will find out when I get some sleep and try again tommorow
    Any other suggestions?

  11. I pulled out my
    Sony DVP-S570D and some TDK CDRW
    Just to see if the problem was the TV or the Player

    It played it np
    So its not the TV.

    So, its something to do with the dvd player I got from Pioneer.
    Maybe the laser is starting to go
    But I dont have any options to choose between PAL or NTSC
    when I looked.
