My system is in a cabinet and if the door is accidentally left closed the drives can not "eject" to reset for the verification phase of the burn (I always verify)
if this happens the verify fails even though the disc may be fine. is there a way for me to AFTER THE FACT in nero or maybe some other software tell it ok here i a disc and here on the HD is the source files compare them ?
Thanks
Chris Taylor

To be honest, most verification systems aren't all that reliable. I prefer to test the read integrity of the disk, rather than risk the constant false engatives of Nero and others. My process is to use Ahead's free CD/DVD Speed Test first, and look for a nice, smooth curve. If there are any jaggies along the way, I will then do a read test using DVD Info Pro. Between these two I have never had a false reading.

I take the disk out and play it.
If it plays, it's verified enough for me.
Software verify seems a total waste of time. If it fails, you can't do anything about it anyhow, excpet burn another coasterCheers, Jim

You can very easily turn off the option to recyle the tray using DVD Decrypter.

I sometimes use ISOBuster and do "Perform a surface scan" and "Check if all files are readable" (right-click on Disc, Track/Filesystem)
There are probably also a number of Binary File Compare/Volume Compare apps on the net. That's really all verification is anyway (all the above).
