  1. Does anyone know how to print CD's or DVD's on the R200 without using the Epson software? I would like to be able to print from either Pinnacle Expression, Adobe Photoshop or Macromedia Fireworks, but didn't know how to set it up.

Or do you need to export the graphics and import them into Epson CD Print?

  2. No need to export, just save when you're done in photoshop (or whatever program you use).
Open Epson print CD. Click import>picture. Browse your hard drive for your image of choice.
It's a very user friendly application. Stretch out the image to fit on the disc. Print. Voila!

  3. If you've got a inkjet printable coaster laying around, it might be worth the effort to figure out the appropriate margins to print directly from within your graphics application. Draw a cross one or two pixels wide in a light grey or blue color. Print to your coaster and measure from the hub to the lines of the large cross. Adjust margins as necessary to get things to line up. Even if you don't have a coaster laying around, if you use a light enough color for the lines, you can probably print on the disc with a dark color and still cover the lines.

I've been doing that. Guess I'll have to play around to see if I can do it the other way.

I use Surething Label to print on both my Epson 900 and the 200. Works great.

I just made a template 12cm x 12cm in Photoshop. I measured the holes and whatnot and added some guides. Then I created a circular black overlay that I can turn on and off to see what the disc will look like printed out. Save and import into Epson Print CD. No need to stretch the image at all. Works like a champ.

  7. I print my DVD labels (text and a couple of icons) on the R200 from a Lotus Approach database application that I use for all my movies. No problem.

It took me about an hour of trial and error to get the alignment exactly where I wanted it. The R200 system software has a "properties" specify to print using the manual cd/dvd tray, regardless of the application sending the print data.

I have accidentally printed all over the tray(outside the area occupied by the disk). The ink will wash off.

Love it. The results look pretty good to me.
