  1. I have a new PC with above VGA (PCIe). So far I had ATI All-in-Wonder 128 and often used Multimedia Center mainly for capturing photos from movies on VHS tapes. First I couldn't run the MMC in my new PC at all. They say the ViVo cards and MMC are not supported by ATI . I had to use this:
    http://www.videocard-forum.com/ati/Got_a_VIVO_card_and_cant_get_MMC_906_to_work_Soluti...re_200337.html

The new MMC (9.06) is strange. As if the picture in window wasn't keyed, as if it was somewhat postprocessed (by some software filter?). It is seen while rewinding VHS (connected via composite input) or in rapid or noisy scenes - picture stops at that moment. Despite the fact, that PC je quite fast - P4 3.2GHz, 1 GB memomory. It's annoying - I rewind VHS, waiting for capturing (mouse click) particular frame, the picture stops for a moment, while VHS is rewinded long since somewhere else. The old MMC (7.1) had the window content pefectly identical with picure sended from VCR to TV.

    Any suggestions ? Thanks.

  2. I did some other experiments. Here's my findings:
    - The problem lies in capture driver. VirtualDub does the same as MMC.
    - When I start MMC, the picture accomodates after cca 1 second , starting from pure white. Old MMC (I can say driver from now on) didn't do it, the TV signal was in window instantly.
    - Old VHS tapes are also problematic. If they don't hold their position on head correctly, then while VCR corrects the tape position quickly, but the MMC picture freezes for a while.
    - Rewinding does the same - whenever the noisy lines appear in signal, MMC picture visibly freezes.

I hope the driver could be set somehow, so the MMC window can show exact picture as it goes on video-in input, without any filtering.
