noob looking for info on recorder..just one question

Can a recorder like the ilo DVDR04 be used with directv dvr...and make episodial disk?

I guess that would say any video input but not sure.

Would I have to go unit with HD to do this?

if you record the show or movie to dvd+rw's then reauthor them on the pc you can do all that you said and a lot more..

i stopped using the edit feature on my dvdrhd04 its faster to record directly to dvdrw's then edit them on the pc then finally burn to dvd+r...its a lot faster..and you get to make fancy menus too..

i wish ILO would make a keyboard for the r04 if they did it would make things a lot less time consuming..

the ilo has 3 inputs one s-video and 2 rca jacks and the unit has to be on in order to watch tv...it doesnt bother me as mine runs 24/7..
