  1. here's one for the experts, recently tired to rip the new criterion collection dvd of kagemusha, only to find that it is impossible! Tried all the usual suspects....anydvd, clonedvd, dvd shrink, dvd decyrpter, voblanker, smoothripper, all the newest versions. I think this may be the first example of ripguard that i've run up on. when previewing the movie through clonedvd and dvdshrink it appears the movie is covered by a green mass with several pixels blinking on and off , when the programs start they all shut down by saying they can't use the main movie files...
help! any body else have this problem, i know it's an obsure movie but...

  2. Which version of DVD Decrypter did you use?

DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 worked fine on my copy of Kagemusha. Great movie by the way.

But who knows, maybe the disc has errors, it happens. It's only happened once to me.

That's the one. (Actually it's the two disc set)

  6. not too sure if its ripguard, but the common denominator in all this is the ripping process, either the drive,or the disc.clean the discs and see,or better still clean the drive.
if it plays ok,on the pc,then it should rip.

I ripped both discs without a problem. I used DVD Shrink 3.2 and DVD Decrypter 3.5.4

Has to use a high compression rate, but looks good and plays fine.
