Im using DGIndex 1.1.0 to decode .vob files into D2V and then AVI synth scripts. I have the prog setup to decode the audio into .wav files, but I have noticed that on some .vob files the .wav file contains no sound? I am trying to use VirtualDub Mpeg to make clips, and I use the DGIndex prog because on some .vob's, VDM can't detect the appropriate audio/video sync. I need the audio in .wav format, so it will sync without having to interleave it. I am having problems with .vob files that were ripped at the same time with the same settings with Smartripper. Some turn out fine, and others have no audio once decoded, but the .vob file itself plays with audio in my media player.
Any help will be appreciated.
Much love!

Use this version of the app, it's even better.

It only contains two files. You'll need to copy the included .DLL over the older version, and/or put it wherever you load your AviSynth DLLs from.
Make sure you've chosen the correct track number to convert to wav. That menu choice is available under the "Audio" pulldown menu of DGindex. Usually, it is track 1 that you want to choose. -
I went ahead and installed the new DGIndex, but I am still having the same problem. I decode to .wav, but the file I get is:
alison3 AC3 T01 2_1ch 0Kbps 48KHz.wav
The filename indicates that there is no audio information, but the .vob file that it can from plays the audio in zoomplayer media player. I also ripped this .vob file at the same time, with the same program and settings as the other .vob files which work fine with DGIndex. The other decoded .wav files look like this:
alison1 AC3 T01 2_0ch 192Kbps 48KHz
The channel seems to be 2_0 on the files that work, and 2_1 on the one does not.
I don't know what to do about this.
As always, any help will be appreciated. Much love! -
How about trying the other channels ? Try Channels 2-4. See if it comes back with an audio file. If it can play in Zoom Player, it can be demuxed in Dgindex.

Ok. Instead of decoding the audio into .wav, I can demux into AC3. How then do I remux the two files in VirtualDub to make my .avi files, which was the whole purpose of ripping them in the first place?

Use VirtualDubMod - It's different from regular Virtualdub
Under the option Streams->StreamsList->Add
Under video heading, change to "DirectStream Copy"
Save the AVI
Or, just use AVIMUX http://www-user.tu-chemnitz.de/~noe/Video-Zeug/AVIMux%20GUI/index-eng.html -
Ok, I tried the other three channels, and there were no audio files after DGIndex did it's thang. I tried demuxing the audio on all for channels. The first channel has the same info in the filename "2_1 0kbs", and the other three channels still have no files made.
I'm thinking its DGIndex. I dont know why, but on some of these .vob files it cannot read the audio information at all. When I play the .vob's in Zoomplayer, they play fine, but when I try to edit them in VirtualDub the audio and video and not in sync.
I tried VirtualDubMod as suggested, but still had no dice there. The video/audio sync gets worse the longer it plays. -
Well, I tried a few different settings on the problem .vob files, and I have been able to get usable results on all except the first one I was having problems with. I opened the .vob in VirtualDub and looked at the file info. All the major parameters are the same as the .vob's from the same disk that didnt give me any problems, so I am stumped.
I will re-rip that chapter .vob and try again I guess.
