Ok, I am trying to access a specific site and 80% of the time I can with no problems. But for some reason I go through these periods where I get a page could not be found check the name and try again error in firefox and something similar in IE. I tried pinging the site using the command prompt in Windows and it says the same thing. Resetting the modem and router doesn't help and neither does hooking directly into the modem. I can't tell if it's my ISP or a setting on my computer or something.

If its just that site, then it almost certianly is not your computer.
It may just be the website host is unreliable or is overloaded with traffic."A beginning is the time for taking the most delicate care that the balances are correct."

I had this happen to me. It was caused by the Zone Alarm firewall program.
