  1. I'm using Pinnacle Movie Box USB and it appears to be working fine with Studio 9.4.2.

However, when I connect my analog camcorder to the Box through the S-Video hubs, I obtain no image at all in the Studio 9 window.

When I use the yellow jack, everything is fine.

The S-Video on the camcoreder works fine because I can connect it to my TV set and visualize my tapes with a dual S-Video cable.

Is there a parameter in Studio 9 to be ticked or does it look like a defective S-Video feature on the box?

  2. you have to manually select the S-Video input on the capture card. you can do this 2 ways 1-press the button on the movie box that changes inputs and 2-while in studio's capture mode there is a section where you can adjust the brightness, contrast you can select the input from there. i use the canopus avdc100 and it has auto switching and has better capturing quallity.

  3. I have the MovieBox USB (without a capture card) which only converts analog devices. You are probably referring to the MovieBox DV which handles both analog and DV.

The latter has buttons Select and Reset while the former has none.

I found no parameters to define S-Video in the Capture section nor in the Format section.

Please note that everything works fine with the jacks.

  4. I finally found the spot. When you are in Capture mode, the Studio 9 window displays the image of a video camera. There is a small button to the left of that image which you have to press in order to define whether you have an S-Video or a cinch connection. The latter is set by default, that's why things worked in my original setup. I thought it was "plug-and-play"...

Thanks for giving me the lead.
