    does anyone know if they will be releasing a umd burner, or are they somehting similar to a minidisc, also, has anyone modded any of these babies yet..holla bACK

    There won't be a UMD burner (Sony wouldn't want to open the piracy floodgates upon themselves). Firmware hacks should be comming soon. Hell, they already found a web browser hidden in Wipeout Pure and the ability to use non-Memory Card Pro Duos...

    most likely games will be run from the memory sticks. 2gb duo > 1.8gb umd

    ken.vs.ryu is most likely saying that backup's could play off of memory sticks using some sort of hacked firmware. It is possible since there is a memory stick that is larger than UMD.

    I don't think he is saying the Sony (or anybody else) will sell games on memory sticks.

    Sony does have plans for a UMD burner. Remember the PS2 DVD burner that never came out. Sony plans to bring it back out with a UMD burner and DVD-+R burner all in one.

    This way peoplecan record there TV shows from TV station and watch them on the go. But you will have to capture your movies.
