  1. Hi - I just recorded a couple of tv episodes on +R on my DVD recorder (Matsui DVDR100). I've finalised the disc on the Matsui so as to make it playable on any DVD player. It plays fine on my other two dvd players. Now I want to rip this disc to my HD using DVD shrink. Easy peasy you would have thought, but no. When I enter the disc in pc's dvd drive it comes up with the volume label "SONATA" and contains a folder called VIDEO_RM, which contains various BUP and IFO files. I've tried opening the disc with DVD shrink and it gives me an error message "DVD navigation error". Also I've tried just opening the files in the VIDEO_TS folder, but get the same error message.
    Can anyone help me here?
    Thank you

Try ripping with DVD Decrypter. There are some disks DVD Shrink will balk at opening. Use the latest version 3.5.4.0 just in case the DVD has some newer protection system.

Shrin expects a DVD-Rom file format. You have recorded in a video mode that shrink doesn't understand. As WUlf has pointed out, DVD Decrypter will rip this format quite happily.
