  1. I ve a problem, i installed first bruno's software and after i installed philips firmware, i wanna know if it is possible to erase firmware or if i install an old version will replace the new version..I ve another prob when i try to change to 4:3 lb 4:3ps and keep 16:9, i t does not change, another thing is the fact of subtitles being so small, how can i solve this prob, please help me, please tell me what updates i have to do, to correct the 4:3 lb 4:3ps 16:9 prob and to increase subtitle fonts. My player is Philips dvp 630 02. Plz help me i dont know what to do, and i m afraid that i ve screw my dvd player.

  3. at least can u help me with this prob, i tried several times change to 4:3 PS and 4:3 lb and it didnt work only 16:9 worked, i changed to 4:3ls and to ps and it didnt make any effect plz help me.

  4. You can change back and forth between firmwares, with basically the only risk you get is from the power going out (or unplugging it) when firmware updating. This would kill your dvp642. You may also want to be wary of unkown and untested firmwares, though HuffyK's and Bruno's are known to be safe.

    About your 4/3 & 16/9 problem, I don't think the dvp642 will pan in on a widescreen .avi or dvd - It just plays it in a wide format with black bars on the top and bottom. I am unaware if this can be remedied in any way, and I think it is a drawback in regards to this player.
