  1. This is probably a dumb question but, if on TMPGEnc you change the settings from normal to very slow, then the VCD would take more CDs to fit on right?

Also, what would happen if instead encoding at 352x240, you burned it at 704x480? Would the resolution be better on a television, or would it not fit on the screen?

On TMPGenc I think you're referring to the quality output "Normal, slow, very slow, etc" I have always left it on Normal or Slow (slightly better encode). Don't mess with Very slow, just takes forever w/o much quality difference. You're not saving space on your CD-R, just making a better encode. Just leave it on normal. 2nd: If you're making a VCD, leave it on 352x240. This is the standard resolution that Nero and your DVD player will recognize. Only use the 720x480 if you're into the DVD-R business. VCD is 352x240, SVCD 480x480. I rip several DVDs to VCD and the quality is about that of a VHS copy. Not bad for not paying $20 for the DVD.

  3. Thanks for you response.

The resolution on VCDs using Pinoy's and other's templates are just not good enough. I was wondering how I could make an XVCD? I tried using the XVCD templates in the tools section and I read the other posts, but they don't help. Would changing the bitrate to 2500 kbps make it XVCD? How would I do that if it is locked? Also, when I finally get the XVCD mpeg, would I just burn it using Video CD in Nero?
