  3. I was looking into this device too but as reboot said are you willing to take a chance? Some people have had success with fixing the audio problem wiht the prerelease drivers. For others the audio problem goes away but then image quality gets worse. If you do buy it make sure the store accepts returns just in case you have problems....

I have been using the WINTV PVR USB2.0 for some time and have had no problems. IMHO it works great.

The audio recording and AGC settings of the PVR-150/500 are now (Finally!) adjustable with the latest pre-beta drivers. (With very little help from Hauppauge..)

But the latest Pre-Beta drivers have introduced some other bugs and reduced image quality (PAL).
We are now waiting for Hauppauge to release the official bug-free drivers.
I am also waiting for over 3 months now..
    Read al about it here:

Yeah, but not so easy to find these days, and more expensive..
Hopefully they will sort things out now really soon.
Just let us hope the new drivers are tested thoroughly!, specially for PAL users!

  8. What's the difference in price worth to you?
I still say get the 250 and go without any headaches, instead of saving a few $ and losing whatever hair you have left
Be thankful you don't live in Australia, where the 250 is going for over $400.

If they fix it, I'm buying one.

    Whereabouts would that be?
The price difference here is less than $35 CDN, and far less than half the price of a cheap recorder.
