I just bought a RJ Tech 1500dvx-II and tried to upgrade the firmware following the instructions on the web site.
Well it started and looked O.K., I left the room for a few min; came back and the TV screen was blank and nothing was happening. I waited and nothing happened...kept waiting....nothing.
I tried to eject the CD....nope won't eject. I turn off the power because it's like MS Windows or something and the whole player locked up.![]()
I goto turn it back on and nothing, no display, no noises, no nothing. The player's dead.
Anything I can do, short of returning it??

is the cd still in there? try leaving it unplugged for an hour or so and then turning it back on with the cd in there.. it might work.. if not, return it.. but take the disc out so they wont know that you screwed it up.

Well I had to take the top off to get my CD back out. I tried waiting a bit and turning the power back on and nadda.
I packaged it all back up to return first thing tomorrow AM, I'll give it one more (usless) attempt at plugging it in to see if it turns on before I leave in the morning.
Man-0-man what a hassle and waste of $1.04/liter gas this is.
