    Hello,

Yes any dvd authoring program like tmpgenc dvd author will let you do it. Just load your vcd mpg and design as you would a regular dvd.

  3. tmpgenc dvd author is the easiest program to get you dvd's from vcd's. Encode them to vcd using tmpgenc's wizard and then just import them to dvd author.

But if memory serves me correctly, the player would still have to be capable of playing the vcd format, just because you put them on a dvd does not make them dvd format.... 8)
But yes, i also have put many vcd format programs on one dvd using TDA.

Mpeg1 in VCD resolution (352x240 NTSC) is perfectly valid for DVD, the only difference is that dvd requires the MP2 audio to be 48 KHx sampling rate vs. 44.1 KHz for VCD. As suggested, TDA will convert the audio at the authoring stage should you go that route, otherwise just make the proper mpeg in the first place.

All DVD players will play a DVD made with VCD resolution.

if you have your heart set on VCD resolutions, you could try to get slightly better quality by going up to 1856kbps on the video (CBR). This will cut down the amount of time you can put on a DVD, but the quality will be better than the normal VCD bitrate (imho).

Of course, if your source is already VCD, then upping the bitrate isn't going to help you. It will only help if your source is higher quality, and you want to compress to get alot of time onto the disc -- 1856kbps will give you about 5 hours on a DVD5 disc.

    I don't believe so:

is basicly a VCD authored on a DVD. DVD supports the VCD resolution but the audio has to be resampled to 48 khz. If the audio is resampled to 48 khz it is standard DVD-Video. Read more here how to make a such.
To me that sounds like true VCD support would be irrelevant.

    --------------------------------------

Magikx21 - what exactly is your mpg file like??? You may want to resample it in tmpgenc - the regular version. Go and resequence it to tmpgencs basic vcd setting. Sometimes TDA is really picky but if you output from the normal tmpgenc as a vcd it may like it with the new header.
