2 SIMPLE newbie questions concerning TMPG Xpress and CCE

2 questions:

1. does anyone know if DVD2AVI supports TMPG Xpress? If so, where can I get the plugin?

2. i have read (at doom9) that CCE 2.5 encoder works (encodes) just as well (quality ONLY considered) as the later versions? Is this true?

About CCE, AFAIK, all versions are essentially the same, as far as the encoding engine. The newer ones just have a few tweaks. CCE 2.5 SP costs $1950US, that's one difference and it has more adjustments that many people wouldn't use anyhow.

I don't know about Express, I use TMPGEnc Plus.

that's what I wanted to hear. I am using CCE 2.5 SP and was wondering if it would be worthwhile upgrading. Again, quality is the only consideration. If the engines are basically the same, I'll stay with what I have. Anyway, thanks redwudz!!!!!!!!!!!!!
