  1. I'm on a paysite where you can download old video but for some reason when it tells me to right click and save it.........each file has to be saved as a text document......although it plays perfect in windows media player

here's the problem.......I want to burn it off my computer because they are like 300 or more mbs a piece.......taking up way too much room

The problem is for me to convert them to play on anything they need to be changed from a text document........

anyone know how to do this? or ever had to?

WMX or ASX files are text documents...They're "Metafiles", or pointers to the real media files.

Open 'em up in text editor and read where the real thing is and download that (it may already be on your HD)

If you saved it as a TXT file, just... rename it.

I seem to recall having this discussion in another thread about renaming .DAT to .MPG and the guy came up with filename.MPG.DAT ... *sigh*
