I've received 4 such emails in the last year but I knew what they were. The most recent came yesterday by someone masquerading as a representative from Charter One Bank in Rhode Island. Their "fake site" was an exact duplicate of Charter's "real" site. Oddly, Charter One had no link on their page to report such fraud (all the other banks did - CitiBank, US Bank, Wells Fargo). I called up their customer service people to give them the particulars and suggest they put up such a link ... assuming they're serious about protecting the interests of their customer-base.

I get alot of these. Stupid supid attempts at it at that. So bad that if you fell for it I'd be more likely to laugh at you then feel sorry.

Don't get me wrong, some are really good but I don't ever get those. I get the really bad ones.

    I feel left out.

Where's the option for no? I've never gotten any of these. I do, however, get hundreds of free ipod, free mac mini, free viagra and cialis, usual xxx stuff and the enlargement pill emails a day.
    His name was MackemX

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

This site has been around for quite a while now, but it's definitely still entertaining. (Not for those who are easily offended.)

    http://www.ebolamonkeyman.com/

This guy got sick of getting these types of emails and decided to fight back.

My fav. spam trend was when after years of getting the viagra mails I suddenly started getting the female viagra mails.

Its like they were thinking "well after 2 years maybe it has to be a chick, SURELY no male would turn down our awesome viagra"

Hehehe. I just hope we don't start getting Cialis spams. Cialis is that Viagra competitor with the ads that say, "If you experience an erection lasting longer than four hours, seek immediate medical attention." Hmmm, if I had an erection lasting more than four hours, I'd seek more climaxes (or more women), hehehe.

You have a point. I guess I'm getting to the point where I think of phishing like AOL discs ... that by now, everybody's received at least one of them. You could always check the "What's phishing?" block, hehe.

  8. I get tons of spam...but I trash it all without even looking at the subject headers anymore.

My friends know how to reach me...so there's nothing being lost in the shuffle.

E-mail is the one thing I rarely do online nowadays.

Just a couple of days ago, I got a PayPal phishing e-mail at my "junk" e-mail address.

"If you don't update your information immediately, your account will be suspended", or something like that.

I had to laugh, since I don't even have a PayPal account!

I tried the link, but it was dead anyway. I was just gonna put a bunch of phony information to lead them on a wild goose chase...but they were so lame, their phishing site was down. :P
